Associate Director, Group Device Business Unit

The role will be a broad leadership role forming part of the Device Business Unit Leadership team alongside the Directors of Optus and Singtel DBU.

A good general practitioner of Devices Management with good knowledge of core devices specialisms:

•    Commercial / negotiation management
•    Supplier Strategy
•    Relationship Management
•    Demand / Supply Management

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Formation of business strategy to ensure business objectives are achieved and superior customer experience is delivered
  • A concise strategy agreed between SingTel & Optus CEOs to operational levels on a consolidated partner approach
  • Balancing vendor & OS share
  • Formulating & executing a quarterly vendor review session with a structure vendor scoring system.
  • A centralized view of handset pricing and inventory details across both SG & AU.
  • Automate price book reporting on a monthly basis.
  • Drive the team to deliver on target device savings as a result of group consolidation and negotiation.
  • Apply other analytics to drive desired outcome during negotiation.
  • Own the end-to-end of quarterly device tenders with vendors to strategically source handsets and tablets for SingTel & Optus device portfolios
  • Ensuring local device requirements across both countries are met
  • Formulate an effective negotiation process integrating requirements across both countries.
  • Establish and manage Senior Management level relationships with strategic device vendors
  • Manage interaction between SingTel/Optus and key vendors at Exec level
  • Primary interface with Senior management of strategic device vendors
  • Chair and drive sessions with local device teams.
  • Regularly provide a snapshot of the overall relationship including specific asks / desires to high level vendor contacts
  • Deliver a strategic future integrated technology roadmap for all devices.

 

 

The Ideal Candidate

 

  • Bachelor degree in business, commerce, accounting or IT or equivalent qualification
  • 5-10 years of devices commercial experience, preferably within a Telco environment
  • Proven track record of commercial acumen and cost management analysis and negotiation
  • Candidates who have demonstrated success in facilitating effective change management and business engagement will be well regarded
  • Strong commercial acumen and financial competence including the ability to review complex business case models    .
  • Excellent communications skills are mandatory for this role, in which presentations to SingTel Group Executive on progress updates are frequently required. The successful candidate must also be able to demonstrate stand-out leadership skills and will have previously managed or virtually managed cross functional teams to deliver projects and programs
