The Food Equipment Group is one of seven ITW decentralized business segments seeking an Accounting Manager. This position is in the Hobart Warewash Division located at its Owen Sound facility in Owen Sound, Canada, located 2.5 hours northwest of Toronto, Canada.
The Warewash Business Division produces Hobart brand commercial dishwashers that are used in hotels, casinos, restaurants, cruise ships, schools, universities and retail establishments. We are the industry leader and seeking to expand our growth in existing served markets as well as new markets.

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the role of the Accounting Manager will be to lead accounting activities and support to the Owen Sound facility. There will be “dotted-line” responsibilities to Division Controller. Responsibilities will include assisting site personnel with day-to-day accounting related activities such as preparation of monthly financial statements; corporate reporting and can ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and ITW corporate policies.
Additionally, the successful candidate will participate in Long Range Planning and Annual Plan preparation and will provide analysis to support such plans, as well as assist with the ongoing budgeting/outlook and ensure all financial information is recorded accurately.
In this role, the ideal candidate will understand and utilize the ITW toolbox and will have responsibility for supervising accounting and overseeing IT system requirements. The candidate will have the ability to outlook all aspects of the operations and be able to relate it to the Plant impacts and the effect to the entire organization. The candidate must be able to identify when objectives are in jeopardy or adjust when changes to plan occur. The candidate must be able to work closely with the Plant Manager to provide strategic guidance to improve the financials of the operation. This includes working closely to determine and implement countermeasures when objectives are in jeopardy.
What you will do:
- Monthly financial reporting
- Monthly/yearly closing schedules
- Planning /monitoring inventory process
- Reviewing accounting processes for compliance
- Long Range Planning
- Annual Planning
- Monitoring internal and external audits
- Monitoring monthly and annual budget vs outlook
- Other duties as assigned

- Self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills, who can work as part of a team or independently.
- Strong ability to work well under pressure with a strong commitment to meet deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail in all areas of work.
- Ability to interpret, implement and monitor Company policies and procedures within business.
- Strong technical skills of Microsoft Excel, Access, Outlook. Knowledge and experience of ERP systems, preferably Epicor.
- Strong knowledge of 80/20 principles and process improvement strategies, preferred.
Education and experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accounting
- Minimum of 5 years Management / High Level Supervisory Role
- CPA designation (preferred)
