The Wesfarmers Advanced Analytics Centre (AAC) is looking for an outcome focused Data Engineer to work alongside our talented Data Scientists, Engineers and Analytics Leads. As one of Australia’s largest listed companies, this role will have a unique opportunity to partner with our iconic retail and industrials brands including Bunnings, Kmart, Catch, Target, Officeworks and Blackwoods.
The AAC plays a key role in the Wesfarmers’ Group data and digital strategy and works closely with our businesses to help deliver advanced analytics solutions to improve customer experience and business performance.
This is a full-time permanent position based in Melbourne CBD.
Working as part of a high performing advanced analytics team, your contributions to our team will include:
- Develop and optimise our data and data pipeline architecture which we require to successfully deliver our advanced analytics use cases;
- Establish effective processes around:
- Data flow and collection;
- Data assets and feature stores creation; and
- Data assets productionisation and API deployment.
- Create scalable data pipelines that can support increased volume and complexity;
- Operate proactively to establish strong and effective relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders; and
- Partner with cross-functional teams to effectively pilot and productionise solutions into business processes.
Our ideal candidate will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in a Computer Science, Applied Statistics or a quantitative discipline (Software Engineering is desirable);
- Significant experience working as a Data Engineer within a large, complex environment;
- Demonstrated capabilities in data ingestion, data modelling, data solution and data warehousing;
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, Kubernetes will be highly regarded;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities;
- Well-developed interpersonal and influencing skills; and
- A genuine interest and passion to learn and develop new skills.
