Marketing Manager – Employee Benefits

As part of MetLife’s marketing team in the UK and a member of the EMEA marketing community, the Marketing Manager (you) will belong to a small team that has the support of a Regional and Global Marketing team behind it. Our Employee Benefits business offers Group Life and Group Income Protection to employers large and small through brokers and intermediaries.

Role Description:

The Marketing Manager – Employee Benefits role is a new role in the UK Marketing team.  The Marketing Manager role holder will be responsible for development and implementation of the UK Employee Benefits marketing strategy and the implementation of digital and integrated marketing activity to support the UK Employee Benefit business’s sales, growth and retention plans. This person will act as the marketing SME for our EB business.

The successful candidate will be responsible for working collaboratively with the business, in particular the Employee Benefits sales team, to build and execute integrated, measurable multi-channel marketing programmes that drive lead generation and nurture relationships through B2B channels. He or she will be the lead in providing integrated marketing services to support campaign planning, execution and optimization and with a heavy emphasis on digital. Providing sales support is also a requirement of the role.

In addition to leading marketing for Employee Benefits, it is intended that the role holder will be responsible for the team’s digital channels such as the website CMS, social & SEO platforms. Therefore, a thorough understanding and experience of working with digital marketing and technology is required.

Candidate Profile

Essential Business Experience Skills:

  • 4+ yrs. B2B marketing experience, with knowledge of campaign management, advertising and integrated marketing communications, including strategy, creative, production and media
  • 3+ years digital marketing experience, with demonstrable experience leading and managing digital media, social media campaigns, SEO/SEM, email and/or display advertising campaigns and driving tangible business results
  • Proven ability to develop productive cross-functional partnerships and management of stakeholders. Able to navigate through a large, complex and global organization with intricate and broad product set and multiple “clients” to serve

Essential Technical Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field, or an advanced degree in business or marketing
  • Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in online marketing and measurement
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking
  • Self-starter with ability to make/contribute to recommendations, prioritize, manage and track multiple projects
  • Must be able to take a ‘hands on’ approach within a small team
  • Competency in managing integrated marketing budgets – across multiple markets/campaigns
  • Proven analytical acumen and strong results orientation

Preferred

  • Knowledge and experience in financial services in a B2B environment
  • Ability to interface effectively with people and build strong relationships
  • Experience of working with, and presenting to, senior level staff
  • Ability to think strategically, understand business risk and apply creative problem-solving skills
  • Entrepreneurial, can-do spirit and ability to work and thrive in an evolving and fast paced results-driven environment
  • Strong oral and written communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
