About the Role
Architects compile customer business and technical requirements into a solution architecture and project/program definition. They provide technical leadership and oversight during all stages of the project/program delivery. This includes advising the project team and customer on implementation approach, strategy, integration, deployment, and adoption of standard methodologies ensuring that the customer realises long-term value from the deployed software.
In addition to the customer-facing work, architects also play a vital role in the continuous improvement of our internal tools and process
Responsibilities
- Work closely with customers to understand their requirements, and craft a solution that will meet their needs and provide long term, sustained value
- Leading the prioritisation of activities by working closely with customer teams as well as AppDynamics colleagues (Project managers, Consultants, Sales Engineers, Sales and Customer Success)
- Lead all technical aspects of customer engagements to ensure that implementations go according to plan, and customers get maximum value
- Develop a collaborative culture with our product, support and engineering teams. Provide valuable feedback from the field to help build exciting features and functionality

What we’re looking for in you!
- Customer-facing experiences such as a pre-sales or consultancy or similar
- Experience with the entire software development lifecycle
- Requirements gathering, and writing design documents at both technical and business levels
- Experience in at least 1 technical domain (Cloud technologies, containers & micro services, DevOps, automation, service management, etc)
- Preferably experience with infrastructure design aspects, including high availability and disaster recovery
- Experience with estimating technical effort, and building quotes, proposals or statements of work
- Deep technical skills in at least one core language environment e.g. Java, .Net, NodeJS, PHP etc.
- The ability to build significant relationships and lead customer engagements
- Ability to influence, advise customers and peers on the best approach
- Continuous improvement attitude
Certifications
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or similar, or equivalent technical experience
- ITIL Foundation certification (preferred)
- TOGAF or similar architecture certification (preferred)
