Job Introduction
The Audiences Intelligence Team based in Salford are currently looking for a Senior Data Analyst for a permanent contract.
Audiences are at heart of everything we do and ensuring that this remains so is the responsibility of our Marketing and Audiences (M&A) team. We bring the outside in via research and insight and take the inside out via brand strategies, campaigns and audience engagement. In Audiences, we use our data and insight to inform editorial and strategic decisions.
The Audience Intelligence Team are a support team that help The Audiences Division use data and insights in the best and most efficient way possible. The team’s activities include streamlining reporting for other teams, building dashboards for end stakeholders and consulting other teams on how to improve their performance reporting. The work we do is pan-BBC, meaning we get a lot of exposure to different areas and we work closely with product and other support teams.
This purpose of this role is to help the team setup and maintain the workflow scheduling tool (Alteryx Server) as well as scaling the team’s use of ETL workflows that fuel BBC stakeholders with important data.
Role Responsibility
Managing/advising data projects across a wide breadth of sources
Setting up, migrating and maintaining the automated workflow scheduling tool (using Alteryx)
An expert in analytics tools, leveraging the full breadth of functionality to deliver maximum value to the business.
The lead analyst and first line of contact for many Audience data projects.
Analysing and presenting results back to the business.
Promoting a more data-driven culture, running training, workshops and knowledge shares.
Developing and maintaining documentation & knowledge hub.
The Ideal Candidate
Essential Skills
Experience using Alteryx Designer. Alteryx Server highly desirable
Desirable to have experience using one or more scripting languages e.g. Python, R and experience using Jupyter Notebook/Lab. Python highly desirable
Able to query data tables with SQL
Experience of working across a breadth of audience/customer data. Ideally experience of working across survey measurement and analytics data
Experience with dashboard development Tableau highly desirable
