Personal Banker

POSITION DUTIES:
Industrial Bank is currently seeking an eager and motivated Personal Banker to join our team in Harlem, NY. The Personal Banker’s primary duties include, but are not limited to:

•    Opening new accounts including but not limited to checking, savings, certificate, and money market.

•    Cross-selling bank products, along with knowledge of opening and closing accounts, servicing customers, processing stop payments, wire transfers, telephone transfers, placing check orders, processing special instructions on accounts and performing general file maintenance.

•    Assisting customers with routine account-related requests such as: funds transfers, Automatic Funds Transfers (AFTs), bank deposit products and service charges, ATM & Debit Card usage and limits, checking and savings account transactions, funds availability, complete verification requests by third parties, ACH & debit card disputes, bank interest rate inquiries, providing account balance information and receipts.

•    Processing customer transactions including but not limited to deposits, withdrawals, checks, money orders, travelers’ checks, selling and redeeming bonds, ensuring all necessary information is in place prior to completing transactions.

•    Responding to customer inquiries regarding their accounts or company products/services in a professional and courteous manner. Responding effectively to customers requesting to close their accounts determining the reason and offering possible alternatives.

•    Facilitating IRA creation, rollovers, transfers, distributions, and account closings. Establishing and maintaining customer records and files.

•    Reconciling checks and cash in drawer at shift completion.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
The ideal candidate for this position must have:
•    Five to Ten years related experience or equivalent.
•    Excellent customer service skills.
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•    Proficient in Microsoft Office suite; FiServ Banking Platform systems
•    Strong organizational skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.
•    Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees.
•    Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
•    Professional appearance and demeanor
•    Ability to perform diversified clerical functions and basic accounting procedures.
•    Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds.
•    Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace. Bilingual skills a plus.
•    Acute attention to detail.
•    Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.

SALARY:
Commensurate with education and experience.
