Electricity is arguably the most crucial part of our modern business. If you have proven experience with electrical power projects, we want to speak with you. We are currently looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team in Richmond, VA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

– You will lead all aspects of projects to include implementing electrical safety, developing project scopes and capital appropriations, and budgeting

– Provide direction to Consulting Engineering firms, manage construction, and ensuring accurate project closure and entry of red-lines into the drawing system

– Manage facility lighting upgrades, update the facility lighting specifications and expand on the automation for the lighting network

– Work with ground breaking power monitoring equipment to improve and expand the existing infrastructure

– You provide back-up services for 7-day coverage of factory utility power support.

– Provide back-up direction to facility and contract electricians during projects and call-in troubleshooting situations

– You coordinate scheduling and supervise scheduled utility outages in collaboration with factory electricians, contractors, consultants, and Dominion Energy.

Background and Experience:

– Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering OR Electrical Engineering Technology with 5+ years of project engineering experience involving some within the electrical field

– Proficient with electrical instrumentation such as VOM’s, clamp-on ammeters, data-collection systems, and oscilloscopes

– Experience with 3-phase power distribution systems including transformers, automatic transfer switches, switchboards, MCC’s, line reactors, service and power distribution panels, motor monitoring systems, grounding systems, variable frequency drives, and motors

– Experience with emergency and back-up power systems: power generators, uninterruptible power supplies, and redundant power schemes

– Knowledge of the National Electric Code (NFPA 70B & 70E) and ability to interpret and effectively use electrical schematics to diagnose equipment issues

– Proficiency with SKM modeling software, Wonderware, Schneider PME, and AutoDesk is helpful. Knowledge of Allen Bradley and Modicon PLC’s preferred

Some weekend and holiday work hours required. Minimal out-of-town travel anticipated
