The successful candidates will be expected to ensure the safe, continuous, effective and efficient operation and maintenance of AC systems for key manufacturing and support facilities.

Your job duties/responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining operating efficiencies of critical utility systems including compressed air, chilled water, condenser water, closed loop cooling water & emergency/standby power via HMIs and other indicators. Includes the operation of:
    • Centrifugal Chillers (3500 – 5200 tons ea.)
    • Cooling Towers (3500 tons; 10,000 GPM ea.)
    • Pumps – centrifugal & vertical turbine (5000 – 10,000 GPM ea.)
    • Air Compressors – centrifugal & screw (3500 – 5200 SCFM ea.)
    • Refrigerated Air Dryers (10,000 SCFM ea.)
    • Plate & Frame Heat Exchangers
    • Diesel Generators
  • Maintaining chemical treatment programs for cooling water systems to include operation, cleaning and maintenance of chemical transfer and metering equipment such as pumps and analyzers. Includes drum handling, bulk chemical unloading, and performing daily sampling and testing
  • Refrigeration maintenance for chillers and air dryers to include system evacuations, filter maintenance, leak checks, repairs and charging of systems. Technicians are responsible for refrigerant handling, storage and tracking
  • Other maintenance activities include air compressor inlet filter replacements, oil filter replacements and chiller tube rodding
  • Operate additional auxiliary equipment including various types of heat exchanges, MOVs, air handlers, exhaust fans and pumps
  • Follow a process control plan and maintain equipment operating logs and records
  • Use a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to enter work order and preventive maintenance data
  • Clean, lubricate and maintain auxiliary equipment to prevent failure or deterioration
  • Respond appropriately to abnormal and emergency conditions and outages
  • Work with maintenance teams and vendors to isolate systems for installations, inspections and repairs
  • Ensure assigned work areas and cleaning stations are maintained to meet high safety and housekeeping standards

Compensation:

The starting wage for this position is $33.71 per hour with the opportunity to earn over $37.00 an hour after two years. You will be eligible for a shift differential payment of $0.40 per hour for working B-shift and $0.48 per hour working C-shift.

Qualified applicants will:

  • Be at least 18 years of age, legally eligible to work in the U.S. and for Philip Morris USA
  • Must be willing to work any shift and to work overtime, weekends and holidays
  • Strong safety orientation
  • Possess current CFC Certification
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance
  • High degree of initiative and conscientiousness
  • Knowledge to perform on-site water treatment analyses as well as take appropriate corrective actions such as adding chemicals
  • Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the operation of steam, chilled water hydronic, fire control and pneumatic systems
