We are currently recruiting for a new Field Service Engineer with a focus on Heat Transfer Equipment (Gasketed Plate Heat Exchangers) as well as Alfa Laval’s other core equipment.

Our team of Field Service Engineers are on the front line of customer support, carrying out servicing and maintenance of Alfa Laval equipment and associated products. The Field Service Engineers must ensure a high quality service to customers at all times.

About the Job

Based in the North Scotland area you will be home based attending customer sites across the UK and Ireland as required. Overnight stays are a regular occurrence as part of this role and some of our activities will require you to work offshore. You will also be expected to participate in our 24 hour call out system and work some weekends.

Working on Plate heat exchangers, Pumps, Valves and other Alfa Laval equipment in our customer’s process operations, this will cover both mechanical.

Your duties will include

•Servicing, inspecting and fault finding of existing equipment and commissioning of new equipment.

•Ensuring all equipment used has the correct certification – lifting equipment, electrical equipment and tooling

•Working with the sales team on equipment audits on customer sites to generate new business

•Meeting KPIs for the service team in areas such as submission of job reports and timesheets

Your Profile

Candidates for this role should have completed a recognised apprenticeship, or have reached a minimum level of technical training i.e. City and Guilds/NVQ/BTEC.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate a strong working background in mechanical ideally with Gasketed Plate Heat Exchangers would be beneficial but not essential.

Must be able to work offshore

Candidates should have a high level of mechanical engineering competence and an ability to read schematic diagrams and drawings is essential. Exposure to Alfa Laval core equipment would be advantageous.
