Maintenance Planner

Responsible to execute planning and scheduling of Operational Maintenance in line with the maintenance strategy and regulatory requirements.

Task & Responsibilities

  • Implement maintenance strategies and develop maintenance procedures
  • Utilize latest maintenance management tools to ensure effective maintenance of all assets
  • Manage Maintenance KPI’s for the Terminal
  • Ensure seamless interface between the work order planning, scheduling process, and the maintenance execution work process within operations
  • Adhere to distribution maintenance process compliance audits
  • Deliver the maintenance plan
  • Implement and maintain documentation / drawing management system
  • Contribute to the review of maintenance plans/reliability and integrity study reviews
  • Support planning and execution of equipment outages in line with R&I plan
  • Create and plan the work orders on time
  • Schedule and release work orders
  • Integrate proactive and reactive work
  • Link work orders to procurement buyers
  • Ensure no backlog of statutory inspections
  • Provide support in relations with external stakeholders
  • Ensure adherence to safe work practices and constantly comply and communicate the SHEQ policy & procedures to customers and contractors
  • Ensure compliance to the MOC system
  • Participate and support in relates to audits and ensure that the audit findings are closed as agreed with the business

Qualification Required:

  • Degree or Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or,
  • NQF Level 6 qualification in Engineering from a recognized institution supported with a Trade Test qualification

Experience Required:

  • 5 Years’ experience in a petrochemical environment of which 3 years must be within maintenance
  • Knowledge of the Maintenance systems & OHS Act
  • Ability to read and understand Engineering drawings and Piping &Instrumentation Drawing’s

Skills Required:

  • Ability in to work with Excel  and computer scheduling applications (learning on the job is possible)
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and with minimum supervision
  • Coping well  under pressure
  • Highly functional
  • Customer service orientated
  • Results orientated

Knowledge Required:

  • Industry standards, regulations, and codes pertinent to the relevant engineering discipline
  • Operational environments, including typical SHEQ systems, maintenance management platforms, and SOP’s

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
