As a Senior Interface Engineer you are a key member of the Population Health Europe team and a subject matter expert on healthcare data integration. Cerner’s Population Health Practice is a new exciting part of our organisation transforming the way care is managed and delivered, using technology to underpin the management of population health across geographies.
Within Population Health Europe Team, the Health Information Exchange (HIE) team is responsible for the deployment of the HIE product. Cerner’s HIE is a standards-based, vendor neutral solution for securely sharing patient data across disparate systems applicable to all health and care settings. While not being standards-limited, Cerner HIE uses IHE IT Infrastructure standards to provide a robust framework for interoperability. IHE profiles support the storage, management and availability of critical health information.
As a Senior Interface Engineer you will represent the primary point of contact for the client and a subject matter expert on the HIE platform for large scale and complex projects, you will provide our Clients coaching towards the use of the recommended standards for data extraction or real time connectivity and guide them into setting up the data feeds.
During the implementation phases of the project, you will be discussing data extraction procedures or real-time interfaces with clients, transferring of files and using data mapping tools to onboard and connect the various data sources onto the HIE platform. In doing this, collaboration with other members of the Population Health Team and Leadership will be important
Your work will play a key role in ensuring consistency in design across clients and in assisting the matching of data source priorities to design requirements. You will also be accountable for the quality of the product delivery and your role during testing and validation will include coordinating the internal and client-led events. During testing and in preparation for conversion, you will be leading troubleshooting activities and will resolve complex system interface issues.
Finally, as a Senior Interface Engineer you will play a key role in data quality audits and your role will be instrumental in facilitating feedback of the requirements for product localisation and enhancements required by our European client base, internally via our Strategists and externally to source data systems.
