Master Scheduler

Lear Corporation are looking for a Materials Planner/Master Scheduler to join our facility in Houghton Le Spring (Sunderland).

The Materials Planner/Master Scheduler  will work within this key role to develop and maintain the Materials Department’s control systems to service internal and external customer requirements. To act as the operational interface for MP&L with engineering to co-ordinate new product introductions, engineering changes etc.

 

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Ensure all BOMs and configurator data are accurately maintained to meet operational and customer needs. To maintain inventory targets for accuracy.
  • Analyze and manage all engineering changes. To liaise with MP&L to ensure accurate and timely material run outs and product introductions
  • To support manufacturing and customer requirements
  • To support supplier component lead times
  • Provide information and support to the general management team as necessary regarding any operational/planning issues.
  • Monitor customer trends
  • Interact with IT to champion any systems upgrade or introduction to develop and improve the Materials department function.
  • Continuously audit, update and maintain all departmental working procedures and instructions within the Materials department to satisfy TS16949 requirements.
  • Provide guidance and direction regarding the improvement and implementation of work methods to ensure 100% delivery of production materials is continuously improved, leading to ultimate internal and external customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure all general quality systems are implemented and continually work to improve quality standards/systems by actively communicating with appropriate personnel.
  • Utilize problem solving methods, communication and leadership skills to provide support to other internal departments and customer personnel, in resolving open issues within all areas of the business in order to continuously improve quality and productivity.
  • Effectively communicate with internal/external customers regarding any relevant issues concerning the supply of components within the supply chain.
  • Using effective communication skills, liaise with all levels of internal personnel in order to collect and evaluate information to analyze issues, then to communicate instructions on how to implement any changes that may be required.
  • Lead by example with regard to all aspects of health, safety and the environment in order to provide a role model for employees.
  • Promote corporate work ethics, teamwork and a general culture of change and flexibility within all team members to develop the continuous improvement initiative within the company.
