HR Operations Officer

Our Human Resources team in Manchester are excited to be recruiting a HR Operations Officer. This role will be to predominantly support our UK and Canadian offices and is designed to be the first point of contact for all our employee HR related questions.

You will be a great communicator, a trusted advisor to your stakeholders and able to navigate our HRIS systems. As a global business you will sensitive to working with international colleagues.

To fulfill this role successfully you will be CIPD qualified or hold a degree in Human Resource Management in addition to experience working within a medium to large size organization.

We’re a fast paced business and as a team, we’re very hands on and quick to respond to situations.

Our offices are based in Wythenshawe, South Manchester. Initially it is likely you’ll be on site 3 days per week, moving up to 5 days per week once our teams are all back in the office.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Working closely with the HR Operations team within EMEA and Canada (EMEAC) developing best practice, working to agreed levels of service and uniformity where possible
  • Focal point of contact for all HR matters including first line advice.
  • Offer expertise of HR processes, policies and HR organizational design. The HR Officer manages employee questions to the most adequate resource as well as guidance on policy, processes and procedures, escalating to the HR Operations Manager when required.
  • Provides support and guidance on all local legislative questions and issues – engage with HR Operations Manager, HR Business Partner and Legal where appropriate
  • Builds reputation of HR Operations as delivering excellence in HR transactional activity and ensuring the quality of work in the team is at a high standard, and that service levels are reviewed regularly
  • Applies technology solutions to automate and monitor core processes and transactions. Have a constant strive, together with the team, IS Specialists and external partners to upgrade the technology dimension of our processes
  • Manages and administers the onboarding process including issuing of offers of employment plus arranging and carrying out the onboarding and orientation for all new hires in the UK & Canada
  • Partners closely with HR excellence centres to ensure total alignment with hiring/on boarding, total reward, and employee development
  • Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting HR functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are compliant
  • Manages Employee Relations: caseload, disciplinary, grievance, performance and absence, escalating complex cases to the HR Operations Manager
  • Coaches and provides support to managers on matters of employee performance and development

 

 

Knowledge Skills and Experience

  • CIPD Qualified
  • Knows and applies fundamental knowledge of HR practices to resolve employee issues
  • Fluent written and spoken English essential
  • Computer literate in HR information systems (Oracle desirable but not essential)
  • Excellent communication, engagement, and diplomacy skills in dealing with employees at all levels of the organisation
