POSITION OVERVIEW
The Senior Analyst, Tax Compliance reports to the Manager, Tax and is responsible for the preparation of all federal, state and local, and international income tax return and informational filings that are required to be filed by Cheniere Energy, Inc. and subsidiaries as well as for Cheniere Energy Partners, L.P. (“CQP”), a publicly traded master limited partnership (“MLP”) that is managed by the Company.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in the preparation and/or review of large consolidated corporate federal income tax and/or MLP partnership returns. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have strong tax research skills and the ability to work effectively as a team member yet function with the motivation for taking initiative.
KNOWLEDGE
Strong working knowledge of corporate and partnership federal, state and local tax laws. Proficient with various tax compliance software packages and data base management applications.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES
· Assist with the preparation of all federal, state and local income (franchise), and international tax filings that are required to be filed by the Company and CQP.
· Prepare & document book/tax differences.
· Prepare reconciliation of tax fixed assets and tax depreciation using PowerTax.
· Organize and maintain files supporting and documenting all tax returns filed and payments remitted.
· Prepare federal/state/international tax payments.
· Prepare forecasted cash flow projections of income/franchise tax payments and provide tax account reconciliations and analyses on a recurring basis.
· Maintain tax compliance calendar and fixed asset reconciliation.
· Assist with responding to notices and information requests issued by various taxing authorities.
· Assist with 1099 filing process.
· Assist with research and report on federal, state, international and partnership income tax compliance issues.
· Maintain strong, collaborative relationships with finance/accounting, legal and other business groups as well as external stakeholders to ensure full understanding of information required for the proper application of tax rules and regulations affecting the company.
· Support process improvement and automation initiatives to streamline and increase efficiencies in the tax accounting and tax reporting functions.
· Assist with other projects as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS)
· Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required, and a graduate/ master’s degree in taxation preferred.
· Experience: Three (3) to six (6) years of progressive tax accounting provision/compliance experience, with a preference of at least two (2) years in Big 4 public accounting. Corptax experience preferred.
· Skills/Competencies:

o Strong data management skills; ability to audit, format, model and analyze large data sets.
o Strong knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office Suite applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

FREEDOM TO ACT
Operates independently within approved guidelines and with minimum supervision. Will be required to deliver pertinent information in a timely manner to management.
WORK CONDITIONS
· Job is performed in a typical office environment, but is subject to time pressures and constraints. Tasks are often dependent on input from others.
· Occasionally, work may be performed from home after normal work hours or on weekends.
· Subject to drug and alcohol testing, per applicable federal regulations or as required by Cheniere.
