Repsol has an opening for a Heavy Products Trader that will be responsible for the development and promotion of Heavy Products Trading, interacting with companies involved in the refining, distribution, transportation, storage, blending and sale of hydrocarbons. The successful candidate will have thorough knowledge and experience in trading refined products such as: Fuel Oil (straight run and high/mid/low sulfur fuel oil), Vacuum Gasoil, Asphalt, etc., including derivatives management.
The candidate should have strong analytical capabilities and experience in business development activities. Global view of the international market and cross desk activities.- Providing Derivatives Management, defining and executing trading and hedging strategies.
- Supply, marketing and trading of Very Low and High Sulfur Fuel Oil, Vacuum Gasoil, Asphalt…, etc., streams and blending for those products.
- Storage management, blending and economics
- Collaborating with the Repsol team worldwide and work arbitrage opportunities
- Provide service to the Repsol refining system and other internal clients
- Identify, assess and develop and implement business opportunities
- Participating in negotiations, executing deals, tracking operations, etc.
- Remaining current on the legal and economic issues affecting the hydrocarbon industry.
- Complying with all the internal rules and procedures, compliance, etc.
Required Qualifications:
- The legal authorization to work in the US for any US employer.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field.
- 5+ years of experience in Fuel Oil Trading.
- Ability to travel if required
- Good market knowledge and relationship with LATAM markets/counterparties
- Strong knowledge of LATAM market and US market, and capable to develop new business opportunities.
- Relationships with market participants and capable to build new and strong commercial relations
- Strong knowledge of international fuel oil and feedstock flows
- Strong communication skills and working in multicultural teams, facilitating communication flows
- Experience in managing storage facilities and blending economics
- Knowledge of refinery production and blending activity in the US, LATAM and Caribbean
Preferred Qualifications:
- Spanish language capability will be valued, but it is not required.
