City Solutions division is responsible for developing sustainable city solutions into a growing business for Fortum. The division comprises heating and cooling, waste-to-energy, recycling and expertise sales.

Fortum Recycling&Waste provides recycling and material efficiency services, environmental management and hazardous waste treatment in the Nordics. www.fortum.com/fortum-recycling-waste

Your role
Fortum’s Recycling and Waste organization is looking for a Trainee for a 4 month period starting in June 2021. As part of Fortum corporation, our Recycling & Waste business area leads the change towards a low-emission energy system and the optimal use of resources. Our goal is to support our customers’ businesses by conserving natural resources and promoting a circular economy. We work together with our customers to build smart and sustainable solutions to ensure the circulation of valuable materials and the removal of harmful substances from the material cycle. Our team is responsible for communications and marketing for 7 different business lines operating in the Nordic countries.

As a Communications and Marketing Trainee, you would be responsible for:
• drafting, compiling and preparing press releases, marketing materials and presentation materials
• assisting in maintaining and producing content in our Fortum channels and social media accounts, incl. editing and publishing
• coordinating translations
• collecting and analyzing information and data and compiling reports for communication purposes
• working as an extended member of our communications and marketing team
• other administrative tasks.

In this diverse role you will primarily support the Finland’s Waste Management Services organization, but you will also be involved in projects with our other business lines.

Your qualifications
What qualifications do we expect from you?

• you are towards the end of your Bachelor degree studies, majoring preferably in communications or business
• you are fluent in Finnish and English
• you have experience in office work, preferably from a larger corporation. We appreciate international experience
• you have solid skills in writing and editing both Finnish and English and can create visually appealing materials
• you have experience with Microsoft O365 tools, Photoshop and InDesign tools and have some experience in web / intranet publishing
