Responsibilities
The primary role of the Senior Associate – Corporate Accounting is to assist and support the Corporate Accounting team. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Perform accounting functions related to joint ventures including preparation of monthly and quarterly joint venture distributions, income allocations and contributions, along with tracking equity accounts for the ventures (i.e. waterfalls)
- Prepare monthly equity method investment and noncontrolling interest reconciliations
- Team with other departments to prepare transactional journal entries (acquisitions and dispositions) and assist in coordination and review of purchase price allocations
- Assist in the preparation of shareholders’ equity, including having an understanding of stock based compensation
- Team with corporate accounting to prepare consolidating journal entries on a monthly and quarterly basis
- Assist in internal and external audit requests related to quarterly reviews and annual audit
- Prepare various 10Q/K disclosures and other quarterly reporting schedules, including Reg G/Non-GAAP reconciliations
- Prepare joint venture financial statements and work with external auditors on coordination or the annual audits
- Aid in the preparation of the consolidated statement of cash flows
- Have the ability to perform technical/peer research and present finding
- Complete special projects assigned by the leadership team
Position
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, majoring in Accounting
- Minimum 2 years of Public Accounting experience with a Big 4 Firm
- CPA or currently working towards CPA
- Ability to understand complex corporate structures and consolidation
- Expert knowledge using spreadsheet programs (including Microsoft Excel)
- Working knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- MRI experience a plus/preferred
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to make business recommendations
- Teamwork capabilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
