Department Overview
Gas Operations is focused on ensuring the safe and reliable flow of natural gas to our customers. As a whole, Gas Operations is responsible for all aspects of PG&E’s gas distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, restoration and emergency response.
Position Summary
Manages and/or administers one or more company programs. Provides oversight, governance, communication, training, reporting as well as having oversight for the overall process and project management for the assigned program(s). Manages the program budget, which may include developing and presenting the budget proposal.
Job Responsibilities
- Applies full understanding of Program Management to assignments of moderate scope and complexity. Requires guidance on moderately complex issues.
- Manage small, narrow scope programs or manages a regional part of a larger programs. Develop projects, monitor and track work to ensure timeliness, quality and overall program budget.
- Communicates with other departments to develop and update monthly work plans and resource plans in SAP and related tools.
- Participates on project plan, project coordination and process improvement teams.
- Assists in the development of annual productivity targets and monthly budget or work plan variance explanations.
- May perform trend analysis, to identify issues with costs or productivity. Assists in developing and implementing solutions.
- Assists in monitoring and managing data related to assigned programs in SAP and related tools to ensure accuracy. May perform data clean up
- Assists with process improvement development. May independently coordinate or facilitate implementations.
- Prepares reports, status updates, variance explanations and budget recommendations
- Assists with communication and training for assigned program
- May help prepare or gather data for GRC or data requests
Qualifications
Minimum:
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
- Job-related experience, 3 years
Desired:
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
- Experience in project management
- Experience in engineering, 3 years
- Experience in gas maintenance and construction
- Experience in program management
- PMP-Project Management Professional certification
