Senior Financial Analyst (Expense analysis & Forecasting)

Job Description / Responsibilities:

This position is an integral part of the Transcatheter Heart Valve Finance team in Irvine supporting financial planning, forecasting, accounting and reporting activities. Additionally, the position will contribute to the preparation of executive presentations and perform insightful analyses during key planning processes. A successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to build strong and trusting business partner relationships and a high level of interest in learning about the THV business.

Duties/responsibilities to include:

  • Responsible for assigned month-end close activities, ensuring timely and accurate reporting, and providing meaningful variance analysis and commentary.
  • Manage cost center finances including preparing business unit specific operating expense accruals, journal entries, and balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Support development of quarterly forecasts, and annual operating and strategic plans.
  • Update functional expenses and headcount in the planning and forecasting system.
  • Calculate and analyze clinical study costs and related accruals.
  • Review capital expenditure requests, prepare capital spending forecasts, and conduct fixed asset reviews.
  • Provide management decision support through ad hoc reporting and analysis.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or Economics
  • A minimum five years in Accounting/Finance experience (or three years of experience with an MBA)
  • Financial planning and analysis experience

  • MBA or CPA
  • Planning system experience
