As Skanska’s Senior Manager of Compensation, you will have the responsibility of supporting all corporate compensation functions across the enterprise, within a Total Rewards structure. This position will play a key role in maintaining and updating the job architecture technical framework, developing, and producing meaningful compensation analysis, managing vendor relationships, leading the annual compensation cycle, annual survey participation process and maintaining the salary structure.
Reporting to the Head of Rewards, this role will work in close collaboration with the rest of the USA HR Shared Services teams (Talent Development & Learning, Policy & Compliance and HR Systems & Services) to deliver high quality support and leadership to the business units. The Senior Manager of Compensation will also work closely with our Global Group Compensation and Benefits team members to continue supporting the implementation of a USA compensation framework.
Senior Manager of Compensation Key Responsibilities:
- Manage compensation administration utilizing systems and workflows
- Provide strategy and expertise relating to all compensation matters to all HR business partners and leadership teams
- Own the design, implementation and execution of the HCM Workforce Compensation module
- Oversee the annual market data determination process including survey participation, updates to job architecture and salary structures, and ensuring that the company maintains a competitive posture in a challenging labor market
- Conduct annual review of salary ranges, geo zones and established compensation guidelines and recommend updates based on market data changes, emerging best practices, and internal analysis/feedback
- Monitor the effectiveness of existing compensation policies, guidelines and procedures and provide insights to improve compensation programs
- Model compensation cost implications, identify trends, and make recommendations for senior management
- Manage all survey vendor relationships
- Develop comprehensive salary administration guidelines
- Manage the annual variable incentive plan process through the HCM compensation module which includes reporting, auditing, accuracy, working in tandem with finance teams, updating based on changes in employee population and compensation, and communication
- Manage the existing Non-qualified Deferred Compensation plans and LTI programs
- Design, socialize and implement long-term incentive programs aligned to the competitive market and business strategies for Skanska business units
- Serve as the primary administrator of CompAnalyst to ensure key reporting is available as needed
- Manage US platform and employee experience of the global Skanska Employee Ownership Program (SEOP) including day to day support for enrollment, payroll coordination, and education and communication of Seop to the enterprise
- Provide expertise to update and maintain Skanska’s Total Compensation communications including development and training for HR, Recruiting and People Leaders on compensation administration matters
- Develop standardized reports analyzing internal compensation trends, gaps and hot spots by reviewing compa-ratios, bonus targets and total cash compensation across employees
- Conduct ad-hoc analyses and provide support to the global compensation team as needed
- Keeps up to date with all federal, state, and local compensation laws and regulations to ensure FSLA compliance
- Will require some local and foreign travel
Senior Manager of Compensation Key Attributres:
- At least 7 years of industry experience managing corporate compensation programs
- Demonstrated success in highly de-centralized and geographically diverse company structure
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office products
- Bachelor’s or other advanced degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or Finance or other related discipline. Equivalent related work or military experience will be considered.
- CCP or GRP certificates
- Experience with compensation-oriented platforms including Oracle HCM Workforce Compensation Module, JD Edwards, and CompAnalyst
- Experience with systems implementation and workflow improvements
- Demonstrated aptitude for understanding and analyzing data from multiple sources
- Ability to work well under pressure and with multiple priorities
- Collaborative and innovative thinking
- Strong operational skillset paired with strategic mindset, enabling practical conversations in all areas of the business
