This job develops and implements product applications for existing KLA products to provide maximum value to the customer.  They focus on projects related to product installation, customer education on product knowledge and usage capability.  They perform product diagnosis and problem resolution, and interface with customer and KLA internal groups to verify that hardware and software problems have been resolved.  They generate best known method documents, application notes and other applicable training materials.  Field Applications Engineers also support any sales potential with situation like demonstration, Head to Head, Joint Development Program to showcase KLA’s product.  They also provide strategic sales support by providing competitive analysis, in-depth fab usage profile and gap analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to routine customer requests.

  • Provide technical support and execute detailed tool installation/upgrade test plans.

  • Perform routine problem diagnosis and problem resolution for wafer characterization at customer site.

  • Provide operational training to customers.

  • Execute project with supervision from manager or project lead.

  • Support preparation and demonstration of products to the customer base.

  • Upon reaching L2 product certification, assist training activities of new engineers.

  • Gather and feedback competitive information (when appropriate and feasible) to region TEM and/or TD.

  • Gather gap analysis and fab profile information to region TEM and/or TD.

Customer Focus:

  • Respond to routine requests from customers.

  • Familiarity with customer use case.

  • Understand what information is considered proprietary and what can be made available to customers

Job Scope and Complexity:

  • Learn KLA systems (including all software analysis knowledge related to the tool), customer’s processes, and standards.

  • Work on well-defined objectives or tasks of limited scope.

  • Follow standard practices and procedures in analyzing problems.  Receives some guidance in planning and execution of tasks.
