The SOLIDWORKS User Experience Design team is multidisciplinary and made up of user experience designers, graphic designers, user researchers, and engineers who are responsible for the user experience and user interface of SOLIDWORKS products. We handle a diverse range of products from desktop CAD software to web and mobile applications. We also support a diverse range of interfaces including augmented and virtual reality.
This is a paid, 3 month internship. You will be working in Dassault Systèmes’ North American Headquarters at 175 Wyman Street, Waltham, Massachusetts.
What Will Your Role Be
You will gain an understanding of the User Experience design process through discovery, concept, detailed design, and evaluation. You will present your proposals and findings to a multidisciplinary team.
Your perspective as a student user will be highly beneficial. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the UX design effort for SOLIDWORKS Desktop products.
- Coordinate with senior UX team members to ensure design and workflow consistencies
- Participate in research, planning, and design of functionality for SOLIDWORKS products.
- Create wireframes and user interface (UI) concept mockups
- Create low, medium, and high fidelity UI prototypes.
- Help to conduct user research and usability tests.

Your Key Success Factors
Actively enrolled in a Bachelor’s or a Master’s Degree program in User Experience, Human Factors, User Research, Product Design, or Engineering with an interest in user-centered design
Minimum cumulative GPA 3.0 /4.0 scale
Able to work onsite in the Waltham office
Demonstrates experience with 3D CAD applications, including SOLIDWORKS.
Understands the User Experience design process though discovery, concept, and detailed design.
Possesses working knowledge of tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, XD, Balsamiq Mockups, Sketch, etc.
Engineering background is a plus.
Possesses polished interpersonal skills, strong self-motivation and maturity.
Demonstrates strong detail orientation and precision
