Video IP Systems Engineer
THE ROLE:
We, Video HW IP/Solution Group at AMD Markham site, are looking for a Video IP Systems Engineer who will work in an established IP team. The role will require the candidate to initially acquire background knowledge of VCN IP core, solution and end-2-end validation suite. Subsequently the candidate will lead to develop process, automation and utility to facilitate the qualification of VCN solution. The candidate will work with system engineering members and is the prime front-end contacts for both VCN IP and product teams.
THE PERSON:
- Proven project leader with effective ability to work with Firmware, Software and Systems teams.
- Proven ability to coordinate validation of sophisticated video CODEC features with varied project schedules.
- Strong organization, problem solving, and analytical skills are a must
- Goal oriented, self-starter, able to independently drive tasks to completion and work collaboratively across teams.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communication
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with IP team leads to develop detailed validation strategy and performance analysis plan.
- Responsible for all phases of VCN HW and solution bring up activities
- Work with DV counterpart, design and FW teams to qualify all supporting HW features.
- Work with different development teams to validate overall VCN solution.
- Develop automation strategy, process, and utility to facilitate end-to-end qualification of VCN solution.
- Work with key solution members to collect, review, examine, and interpret competitive analysis
REQUIREMENTS:
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in ASIC bring-up, diagnostic and product support.
- Expertise in HW qualification process and design validation
- Preferred knowledge in video playback application and process in Windows or Linux environments.
- Practical C/C++ software development experience.
- Knowledge in Verilog, scripting experience (csh, perl, awk, etc.).
- Experience with simulation and other DV tools are good assets.
- Strong problem solving skills, attention to details, and result oriented performer
- Good interpersonal skills (verbal and written).
- An organized, enthusiastic self-starter, strong interest in hardware/solution verification methodologies.
- Capable of working as an independent contributor or team member.
ACADEMIC CRIDENTIALS:
- Minimum BSEE/CE, or equivalent degree.
