Career Opportunity:
Help lead the mechanical reliability program at the mill. Provide the expertise and leadership to predict, prevent, eliminate or reduce equipment failures through application of current reliability techniques. Design and implement reliability improvement standards, on-going training and education and equipment modifications in order to achieve world class maintenance reliability. Provide leadership to the Reliability and Lubrication Technicians.

 

How you will impact WestRock:
The Reliability Engineer will act in both a supervisory and staff capacity to promote and advance the Reliability program across the entire mill in the following manner:
· Promote a culture of Safety in the Mill.
· Promote a culture of paying attention to details in all mill activities including safety and maintenance activities.
· Serve as a leader and example for behavior and performance to all employees.
· Recommend innovative solutions to increase equipment and facility life and reduce maintenance costs through the analysis of repetitive equipment failures/breakdowns and predictive maintenance analysis reports
· Manage the Root Cause Problem Elimination (RCPE) process, including follow-through, completion, and documentation.
· Use proactive, preventative, and predictive maintenance techniques to avoid and to detect equipment failures.
· Assure that an appropriate response is promptly enacted based on results from predictive failure analysis and condition monitoring processes.
· Continuously improve equipment availability and reduce maintenance costs.
· Be a tireless and enthusiastic champion of reliability.
· Serve as an equipment reliability Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the site.
· Manage the lubrication and inspection program for the site.
· Implement, audit, and improve the Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Predictive Maintenance (PdM) routes and programs on existing equipment and as equipment is added, removed, and improved.
· Manage and report Key Process Indicators (KPIs) detailing results of the reliability programs activities.
· Work closely with purchasing, stores, and engineering to ensure equipment reliability is implemented throughout all project phases including procurement, vendor selection, spare part selection and stocking.
· Develop and adopt standards that improve equipment reliability in areas such as Essential Care, PM, PdM, CM, RCPE, equipment procurement, stocked parts, rebuilds, installation and work execution.
· Participate as an integral part of the Work Management Team of Maintenance and Operations in promote and improve equipment reliability.
· Participate in the Management of Change (MOC) process to optimize the reliability, improvement, or modification of mill equipment or processes.
· Submit recommendations and justification for capital expenditures that support and improve the Reliability Program.
· Submit regular reports covering the overall program costs and benefits, the “finds” and improvements made, as well as the strategic way forward for the Reliability Program.
· Maintain awareness of advances at other sites that would be of benefit to adopt.

 

What you need to succeed (Requirements):
· BSME, or BSChE and/or 5+ years’ in reliability or maintenance in Pulp & Paper or Power facilities.
· Demonstrated skills in analyzing and drawing conclusions from large datasets.
· Ability to manage large maintenance and small capital projects effectively and efficiently.
· Detail oriented.
· Knowledge of CMMS functionality.
· Knowledge of Maintenance Planning and Scheduling.
· Experienced in maintenance shutdown planning and scheduling.
· Good working knowledge of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project.
· Meeting facilitator with strong diplomacy and interpersonal skills.
· Willingness to lead and motivate others.
· Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
· Demonstrated creative problem solver.
· Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and pressure demands.
· Demonstrated ability to remain calm under adverse circumstances.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Skills or Knowledge:
· CMRP certified.
· MLT I certified.
· Vibration Category I certified.
· Precision Maintenance trained.
· Knowledge of thermal, acoustic, and other NDT methods and procedures.
· 2-5 years of heaving industry experience as a Reliability Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, Project Engineer or Maintenance Supervisor.
