Job Accountabilities
Manager of Technical Training – Massillon, OH
This position will represent the Massillon, Ohio location as the training coordinator and subject matter expert in delivering and administering training programs that support the manufacturing goals and initiatives of not only the Massillon plant, but also the North America Food Division, its customers and suppliers. This includes, but is not limited to providing leadership, compliance and technical training for members of the Massillon team. This will also include personnel development skills of managers, supervisors and line technicians; developing and facilitating teams and team management concepts. This position will either take the lead in developing and rolling out training or be a key support resource to other subject experts in the plant. This position will report directly to the Human Resources Manager for the Massillon facility.
Key responsibilities for this role would include the following:
Provide support for rolling out the Massillon handbook and policies and ensuring the Plant Leadership team is fully trained and understands these items
Provide Leadership Team Building to the Massillon management staff
Support the HR function of the Massillon plant in reviewing their hiring and recruiting activities looking at areas such as strategies to increase diversity hires and helping to evaluate the current recruiting processes.
Provide support to the Massillon plant’s commitment to a “people first” working environment and proactive performance management
Provide training and information at the plant-wide monthly employee meetings
Support HR, EHS and Quality departments in rolling out plant needed trainings in these areas as well as on-going leadership and supervisory training
Take part in the 5-day new hire orientation training and act as the Safety Training back-up for these sessions as well as a back-up for EH&S Coordinator
Develop a more robust orientation presentation to not only new hires, but also vendors and customers who visit the Massillon site for the first time.
Take a lead role in developing a Train the Trainer Program which does not currently exist.
Facilitate the annual Crown HR training requirements such as Drug & Alcohol, Non-Harassment, Ethics, etc.
Serve as a liaison with local resources to support the Massillon plant. Examples of these resources would be local colleges, universities, technical school and technical training vendors.
Additional responsibilities will include other tasks as needed
Job Requirements
Skills, Training, Experience Required:
BS degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development or a related discipline
7 – 10 years of experience in a lead training role in a manufacturing environment
Proven classroom/platform skills with effective verbal, written and oral communication skills
Strong track record of training development across a variety of topics and platforms
Thorough understanding of a variety of manufacturing processes with high-speed production preferred
Ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization
Technical skills with a thorough knowledge of Excel, Access, Power Point and Word
Proven record of problem solving skills and an analytical approach to problem solving
Effective time management skills and the ability to manage and roll-out multiple programs at the same time
Ability to work effectively in both a team and individual capacity
Work experience with a focus on Safety, Quality and employee development
