Job Description: R&D Applications Engineer – DSP

The Applications Engineer is responsible for working directly with Cadence Tensilica customers to provide technical support, application know how and training on Tensilica products. You will also interact with Tensilica sales and field application engineering teams, other members of the Applications Engineering team as well as the development engineering team to support the customer.

 

Location : Pune, India

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Provide technical support for Cadence Tensilica Xtensa processors with emphasis on DSP programming and optimization

Provide guidance and know-how to customers on using Tensilica software tools and best known methods for programming Radar/Lidar/Communications DSP products such as the BBE32EP,B21,B10 DSP cores

Create code examples, library routines and application notes to help customers get the most out of Tensilica DSP products.

Provide customer and FAE training and mini seminars on Tensilica tools and technology

Author and review product documentation and other collateral

Provide quality solutions to customer issues in a timely manner

Influence future Tensilica products by providing customer feedback to the development engineering teams.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

BS in EE/CS (MS preferred) or equivalent plus 5 years of work experience.

In-depth understanding of computer architecture and DSPs is required.

Experience in programming and optimizing DSP code for performance and memory utilization in an embedded systems environment is required. Experience in assembly programming as well as C/C++ is required.

Work experience and familiarity with radar, lidar, 4G, 5G or wireless communication algorithms and systems as well as programming experience on VLIW architectures is highly desirable.

Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as good problem solving skills.

Self-motivated and capable of working independently or as part of team.

Able to travel 6 to 10-weeks per year to the US and to international locations in Europe and Asia.
