Job Description

SGS is currently in the midst of an exciting growth phase where there is a focus on new business and in order to support this phase, we are excited to be recruiting for a Business Development Manager!

We are currently looking for an experienced and passionate individual to help develop and lead business development and commercial activities across our existing and new streams of business for Environment and Health services.

We are looking for someone who can:

  • Actively prospect and execute the business growth plan for the region in line with agreed business objectives
  • Develop sales activity in the sectors of Environmental and Industrial sampling & testing
  • Manage relevant tender documentation through to presentation stage and contract negotiations
  • Can monitor performance against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), service level agreements requirements (if applicable) and financial targets
  • Work in conjunction with SGS operations nationally to service customer outcomes
  • Ensure high quality, value adding client services focusing on quality, productivity and safety
  • Be the point of contact for queries and client queries
  • Oversee and provide feedback in relation to quotes, documentation and expressions of interest to maximise business growth and profitability
  • Plan and schedule client visits
  • Prepare monthly client service reports for both internal and external stakeholders

Qualifications

An attractive salary and commission structure is on offer for a hunter or huntress with the following attributes:

  • Experienced sales professional with a technical sales background
  • Tertiary qualifications in Business Management and/or Engineering/Science/Health/Safety preferred
  • Previous experience working in/or sound knowledge of Environment, Health and Safety sector preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of laboratory operations and instrumentation
  • Experience in driving new business, market segment development
  • Ability to adapt, drive change and implement strategic initiatives
  • Experience and knowledge of Customer relationship management (CRM)
  • Strong organizational, planning, prioritization and delegation skills
  • Ability to work under pressure with competing deadlines
