Job Description
As a member of the team, assist management in maintaining SGS’s capability to analyse soil, water and air samples. In particular, to provide assistance to the Sample Log-in operations and ensure timely services are provided. Also to conduct routine and non-routine analyses and to deliver quality and timely laboratory results.
Responsibilities will include, however are not limited to:
- Ensure samples are identified, labelled and stored correctly.
- Sub-sampling where necessary and packaging samples for courier.
- Disposal of samples in accordance with appropriate procedures.
- Record temperatures for sample storage fridges.
- Ensure all samples are free of contamination during log-in and sub-sampling process.
- Understanding of general laboratory QA/QC requirements.
- Maintain and update skills, qualifications and knowledge through courses and on-the-job training to support improvement.
- General housekeeping.
- Perform other duties as directed by the Sample Administration Manager.
- Ensure understanding of safe laboratory practices.
- Compliant to all SGS OH&S and HR policies and procedure.
Qualifications
As the successful candidate you will have:
- Appropriate tertiary qualification (preferred)
- Commercial laboratory experience (preferred)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Flexible and adaptable to change
- Teamwork and cooperation
- High level of integrity
