What we are looking for:
We are looking for a Production Planning Manager to be responsible for implementing processes that improve operating efficiencies and reduce cost within the end-to-end supply chain.
Must display Business acumen and a passion for making a difference in the business and the ability to drive processes across a system, see trends and analyze data.
What you will be responsible for in this role:
- Manage all final and sub-assembly planners across multiple Strategic Business Units (SBU)
- Provide training to planners, as well as training for changes to current processes
- Communicate and execute capacity and line rate changes resulting from weekly sales & operations meetings
- Coordinate shop floor schedule or material changes as a result of clear-to-build process
- Ensure final production schedule is sequenced to master schedule to ensure on-time performance to production dates while optimizing production line efficiencies
- Lead and implement process improvements related to production scheduling, scrap reduction and WIP inventory management
- Define and track KPI’s that provide visibility to overall department performance as well as identify opportunities for continued improvement
- Provide support and communication to production managers
- Assist with organizing planners’ daily job functions and workload balancing
- Coordinate communication with engineering and supply chain for BOM substitutions and / or deviations
- Confirm appropriate
- Create formal communication and tracking process for known component shortages
- Develop written procedures related to the planning function
- Establish cross training needs and plans
- Assist CI Engineers with continuous process improvement projects
What are the basic qualifications?
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- 5+ years’ experience supporting operation environment planning capacity
What are the preferred qualifications?
- B.A. in Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field
