Electronics Engineering – Manager

The Electronics Engineering Manager role is a diverse role, with responsibility for digital hardware, hardware architecture of the complete magnetic bearing control system; line management of the R&D team and associated sales support.

 

 

 

Role Purpose / Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

• Digital Electronics

o Design feasibility for product requirement

o Detailed circuit design and validation

o Technical product support through lifecycle

o Design validation to product standards

o Preparation of product data to support lifecycle

o Technical documentation

o Working closely with other disciplines to develop integral technical solutions

o CI and re-engineering to improve design robustness/reduce cost/complexity

 

 

 

• Hardware System Architecture

o Responsibility for hardware system architecture

o Design feasibility for product requirement

o Working closely with other disciplines to develop integral technical solutions

o CI and re-engineering to improve design robustness/reduce cost/complexity

 

 

 

• Management

o Line management of the R&D and Electrical Engineering groups

o Project planning of R&D and customer funded projects

o Recruitment and management of design contractors

 

 

 

• Support of sales

 

• Internal product training

 

 

 

Skills and Experience:

 

• At least 10 years post graduate experience

• High speed Digital design with FPGA and DSP

• Experience of control of power electronics and/or servo control systems

• Experience of Industrial Electronics and instrumentation

• CAE tools

o Schematic capture/PCB design

o Circuit simulation

o Boundary scan test

• Analogue mixed signal design

• Power electronics

• Clear concise and articulate communications skills

• Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders

Qualifications:

 

• Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering

• PhD / Masters in a relevant discipline
