Associate, Transaction Management and Portfolio Management

Role Summary/Purpose
We are seeking a talented, highly motivated individual(s) who is seeking to expand  upon or  begin their  career in mortgage banking.  This individual will have a demonstrated ability to undertake complex tasks, a strong willingness to learn and the ability apply those learnings daily. This individual will report to the Vice President of Transaction Management or the Vice President of Portfolio Management to support our ownership and management of investment assets.  The ideal candidate will have a strong record of academic or work experience and enjoy working in a collaborative environment.
Essential Responsibilities
  • Sub Servicer Oversight
    • Conduct monthly audits and quality control reviews of sub servicer to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures
    • Ensure compliance with GSE performance standards
    • Ensure sub servicer has adequate controls to meet/exceed performance targets
    • Establish performance targets that support best in class portfolio performance
    • Manage the capacity of the sub servicer to ensure adequate staffing is available to support business goals
    • Ensure sub servicer maintains proper financial controls to ensure compliance with agency guidelines, including acceptable Fidelity Bond and Errors and Omissions protection
    • Reconcile monthly billing statements to ensure compliance with agreed upon pricing construct
    • Work with Financial operations team to reconcile monthly bank accounts where necessary
    • Maintain strong default management practices for both the firm and sub servicer including but not limited to:
      • Collection Strategies
      • Loss Mitigation Strategies
      • Bankruptcy Management
      • Foreclosure Timeline Management
      • Escrow Management
      • Property Inspection Management
      • Real Estate Owned Liquidation Process (where applicable)
      • Ensure investor reporting and accounting accuracy
      • Ensure claims management process is effective and recovers all available dollars for the investor and the firm
    • Ensure compliance with all call center metrics:
      • Average speed to Answer
      • Abandonment Rate
      • Hold times
      • Resolution rates
      • Average hold time
      • Average talk times
    • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements including CFPB
    • Manage all customer complaints for the firm
    • Work closely with all internal teams to ensure corporate goals are met
    • Prepare and be responsible for the preparation of all weekly, monthly reporting packages relating to portfolio performance by sub servicer, portfolio, etc
Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience required
  • 1-3 years of experience in mortgage servicing
  • Experience working in a collaborative environment preferable
  • Exceptional organizational skills with keen attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively under time constraints
Eligibility Requirements:
  • Must be willing to work in Dallas, TX, role is based in Dallas
  • Must be willing to submit to a background investigation
  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
  • Must be willing to work additional hours as needed to complete deadline driven projects
