We are currently inviting applications from qualified applicants for an Accounting Clerk to join our team in Wixom, Michigan.

Position purpose

Under the general direction of the Accounting Supervisor, this position is responsible for a variety of accounting duties necessary to assist in generating accurate Company records and financial statements for both AR & AP.

Assist the Accounting Manager and team with specific accounting tasks as directed

Principal Duties will include taking responsibility for, or assisting in:

  • Processing Invoices Customs paperwork and Sales invoices daily (time sensitive)
  • Processing ERS (electronic receipt settlements)- invoicing for payment application
  • Collection calling and continuous follow up on past due customer invoices
  • Review and processing of payables related to received goods-delivered to various offices.
  • Sales & Use tax filings, analysis of transactions an applying S&U rules to allocate accordingly
  • Maintain, develop and improve department procedures, files, logs and records
  • Entry Summary/Original Invoice matching, verifying, logging.
  • Verification of scanned documentation for disposal
  • Analyze various discrepancies and resolve problem(s)
  • Other tasks as directed by Manager or Financial Controller

Required Experience and Education 

  • MUST HAVE – 2 to 3 years’ experience in a general accounting department
  • Bachelors or Associates in Accounting preferred, or RELEVANT experience and education considered
  • MUST HAVE – Experience in A/R; A/P; Sales & Use Tax knowledge
  • Excellent Attention to Detail
  • MUST HAVE – Ability to work unsupervised and ‘get the job done’
  • Solid experience in office software and spreadsheets, word-processing
  • The candidate must possess above average communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with suppliers and employees in a professional and courteous manner
  • You must be able to organize workload, function under moderate pressure and work with a minimum of supervision
  • Must follow up as necessary to ensure timely completion
