Senior Financial Analyst – Distribution Finance

How This Role Contributes to Brighthouse Financial:

This role will be responsible for supporting critical processes related to the Brighthouse Financial Annuity & Life Distribution groups.  This individual will analyze and update various databases used in the reporting of related Brighthouse Financial expenses.  Regular collaboration is to be expected with internal departments and partners including, but not limited to Annuity & Life Distribution, Accounts Payable, Procurement, Product, and Compliance.  Additionally, this role will support the Life Distribution variable compensation process and several initiatives surrounding this groups expansion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare financial reports for Annuity & Life Distribution groups by downloading information from single or multiple sources; compile databases and formulate spreadsheets; interpret trends, analyze results
  • Manage forecast and budgets for Annuity & Life Distribution groups
  • Partner with functional teams and other operational areas to review data for accuracy, while also gaining an understanding of underlying drivers of expense results and communicating to management
  • Works on financial analysis assignments or projects of a routine or non-routine, basic to complex level
  • Reconciles actual results against projections and reviews and explain or validates variance explanations
  • Manage the Life Distribution variable compensation input process
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

  • Effective business analytical abilities, attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Financial modeling and analysis ability using Microsoft Excel
  • Experience working with SAP, BPC, and Analysis for Office is preferred, but not required
  • Ability to handle multiple complex tasks under timelines
  • Ability to build partnerships and work collaboratively

  • 3-6 years financial analysis in a public or private company.  Insurance industry experience is a plus
  • BA/BS degree, preferably in Finance or Accounting
