Summary
Marathon Oil is currently seeking a Facilities Engineer in Houston, TX to support our exploration and production program in Oklahoma, West Texas, and New Mexico. This position is expected to provide process engineering design, construction, and operations support for well site production facilities, pipelines, and other infrastructure systems.
Key Functions of Role:
- Execute surface infrastructure projects from conception and design through implementation for well site process facilities, gathering systems, compressor stations, pumping stations etc.
- Provide project planning and management support for capital and expense projects with accountability for scope, cost, and schedule.
- Work closely with subsurface and production teams to design and install facilities needed to address changing production rates while meeting regulatory requirements and engineering standards.
- Serve as technical authority for process engineering within team and provide technical guidance during PHA’s.
- Provide process modeling support for separation, conditioning, and storage design.
- Lead standardization of equipment/ facilities designs, calculations, and documentation efforts.
- Provide technical and professional mentorship to the facilities organization, including areas such as technical documentation, process safety principles, leading meetings, and construction oversight.
- Promote Marathon’s culture of safety and environmental standards including Management of Change.
- Travel to field locations as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering. (Chemical Engineering preferred).
- Professionally qualified engineer with 10 or more years’ experience in process engineering for oil and gas facilities, 3 or more years of experience in resource plays with experience in onshore facility design, operations, and maintenance.
- Experience with design and operating systems on central facilities and well pads such as pressure vessels, tanks, piping, PSVs, control valves, rotating equipment, compressors, flares etc.
- Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with all levels of co-workers, management, and internal/external stakeholders
- Software proficiencies: ProMax or HYSYS, PIPESIM, Spotfire, Microsoft Suite of Applications, SAP, Wonderware (SCADA)
Preferred Qualifications:
- 15 or more years’ experience in process engineering for oil & gas facilities
