What is the Associate Data Analyst in Global Compliance group responsible for?
- In general, this position will be responsible for assisting one or more Compliance Officers or their team members in carrying out the mission of the Regulatory Compliance Department.
- An individual in this position will be expected to build, maintain and enhance reports/dashboards across multiple lines of business; and create insights using analytical tools and techniques, using large data sets. The candidate must have a technology profle – with BI and analytical tools.
This includes, but is not limited to the following:
- Assess/Create/Change reporting needs, data trends and reporting gaps using Business Intelligence (BI) and analytical tools, such as SAS, Alteryx, Python and other tools. Use visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
- Manage and understand the connection of data from onboarding to datamarts or business managed databases.This is for internal and external data sources as it relates to the SIMs or Trading Hub
- Extract actionable insights from large databases. Help translate data into visualizations, metrics, and goals
- Write SQL queries to extract data from the data warehouse
- Independently define and maintain metric development, dashboard development, adhoc reporting and BI tool administration. Assess and implement changes when necessary
- Expert proficiency with structured and unstructured data
What are the ongoing responsibilities of a Associate Data Analyst in Global Compliance group?
The Associate Compliance Data Analyst (CDA) will be the main contact for the Chief Compliance Officers/ relevant Compliance team member and will support the Compliance Analytics project for the SIMs and FT entities. The project includes analysis, communication, reporting requirements, query solving and perform activities that may arise as part of the daily responsibilities. This individual may also support related compliance efforts, periodic reporting and ad hoc projects. And would be working closely with the Compliance Technology Specialist and other FTT teams.
Compliance Analytics project:
- Understanding and handling the data sources from the SIMs
- Validation and scrubbing of data
- Analysis of SIM data as per the various tests coded in CAT program
- Preparation of data analysis dashboards and review reports for the CCOs
- Enhanicng the CAT program and looking for other automated tools that would be available in FT
- Coordinating with the technology team and the relevant compliance team member for data, testing etc
- Working on related projects assigned
- Tracking the progress of the initiatives
- Preparing reports/ updates, underlying reference guides etc for the same
Trading Hub related analysis:
- Understanding the Trading Hub logic and analyzing the alerts triggered from Trading Hub
- Research on Bloomberg and other external sources in relation to the alerts triggered
- This could include data analytics reports/ dashboards
Compliance Analytics for monitoring , forensic testing & surveillance:
- Supplemental to the Compliance Analytics project, analyse data and idntfiy outliers for regulatory compliance monitoring , forensic testing & surveillance
- This could include data analytics reports/ dashboards.
- Bachelor degree or Associate degree with Stastical or Maths background
- Knowledge and experience in tableau, python, alytrex is a must
- Years of relevant data analyst experience required
- Experience working with languages such as SQL/CQL
- Very strong in excel and other Microsoft office tools
- Approximately four years of relevant corporate experience.
- Prior experience of working on Bloomberg terminals or data retrieved from the terminals would be a plus
- Directly related experience in compliance/ audit role for an asset management or financial services company a plus but not essential
- Prior experience as a SME, business/technical resource involving analysis on small/medium projects or initiatives
- Previous job history and training demonstrate:
- Excellent research, comprehension, analytical and decision-making skills
- Professional skills necessary to independently manage multiple complex projects involving confidential and detailed information.
