What is the Associate Analyst – Risk & Performance Operations responsible for?
- The primary function of this position is to calculate risk statistics, analyze and report portfolio performance, characteristics, weights, attribution. This position will provide back-up support in liaising with other PAIR teams as well as with key clients including Global Advisory Services, Risk Managers/Consultants, Investment Analysts/Managers as well as various compliance and legal teams.
What are the ongoing responsibilities of Associate Analyst – Risk & Performance Operations?
Risk and Performance Analysis:
- Responsible for various file loads to Point (Risk system) and PMA
- Daily and monthly reconciliation of returns and risk numbers – Point Vs PMA
- Validation of data
- Review portfolio risk statistics, performance, and attribution by analyzing the accuracy and quality of the underlying data.
- Identify and resolve data issues of low to moderate complexity impacting performance, characteristics, attribution and risk reporting.
- Ensure reports are delivered to the appropriate client(s) and/or provided via automated processes to downstream systems by the agreed upon date.
- Create and run standard reports and queries.
- Maintain performance, composite and/or benchmark information.
- Review automated validation controls and complete issue resolution process.
Client Support:
- Respond to ad-hoc requests for performance, characteristic and risk statistic information.
- Ensure client requirements understood during product launch and account on-boarding and internal systems/processes are updated support requirements approved by PAIR Ops management.
Industry Trends:
- Remain current on risk related trends, topics and issues.
What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?
- Bachelor’s degree
- 2 – 4 years relevant work experience in the Mutual Fund/Financial Services Industry
- Experience using financial/risk application/software
Additional Desirable Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, math or other quantitative discipline
- Knowledge of basic SQL.
- Prior investment performance, investment operations or fund accounting experience is viewed favorably
