What is a Senior IS Analyst – IT Security responsible for?
- SOC Analysts in the IT Security role is primarily responsible for 24×7 days monitoring of the Franklin Templeton infrastructure. They respond to potential incidents and perform incident first action within agreed SLA’s.
What are the ongoing responsibilities of Senior IS Analyst – IT Security(Security Operations Center)?
- As an active member of the team, monitor and process response for security events on a 24×7 basis.
- Investigate and document events to aid incident responders, managers and other SOC team members on security issues and the emergence of new threats.
- Manage security event investigations, partnering with other departments (e.g., IT) as needed.
- Leverage knowledge in multiple security disciplines, such as Windows, Unix, Linux, data loss prevention (DLP), endpoint controls, databases, wireless security and data networking.
- Stay current with and remain knowledgeable about new threats. Analyze attacker tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) from security events across a large network of security devices and end-user systems.
- Adhere to service level agreements (SLAs), metrics and processes for ticket handling of security incidents and events.
- Partner with the security engineering team to improve tool usage and workflow, as well as with the advanced threats and assessment team to mature monitoring and response capabilities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?
- 8 to 10 years of industry experience with Security Operation Center.
- Experience in SIEM – ELK (Elastic/Logstash/Kibana), Splunk, threat hunting.
- Experience in handling Suspicious/Phishing emails.
- Experience in EDR tools like CrowdStrike, Palo Alto, Carbon Black, etc.
