Manager – Product Software Engineering

Job Description:

Responsibilities

  • Overall management and co-ordination of multiple projects and their interdependencies.

  • Primarily responsible to plan the delivery of the overall project and its activities in accordance with the schedule, budget and predetermined quality metrics of the project.

  • Primarily responsible for managing the project issues and escalating where necessary, including reviewing escalated project issues to evaluate whether they will affect any of the activities or phases.

  • Primarily responsible for resolving the cross-functional issue at the project level.

  • Liaison with, and updates progress about the project to the senior management.

  • Managing communications with stakeholders (other project managers and customer if necessary)

  • Responsible for developing and maintaining detailed Project Plan.

  • Responsible to develop and implement long-term goals and objectives to achieve the successful outcome of the projects

  • Identify areas for improvement

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Software Product / Project Development Industry.

  • Minimum 5+ years of program management and team leadership experience.

  • Proven track record of leading highly volatile large cross-functional and cross-organizational environments.

  • Proven ability to generate innovative consumer-focused solutions, assess business needs, prioritize accordingly, and escalate appropriately.

  • High proficiency in planning, collaboration, communication, and reporting tools.

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully influence others to best outcomes without having authority.

  • Mastery of core Agile methods and practices (Scrum, and/or Kanban)

Planning & Organizing :

Defines deliverables and timelines for his/her work group members and helps them effectively prioritize their activities Develops an organizing system and work routine that facilitates delivery of work Works with multiple teams/ projects and ensures effective integration of their plans and deliverables if required monitors progress against checkpoints; anticipates issues before hand and revises plans accordingly

Customer Focus:

Acts on the feedback and suggests changes to procedures/ products which would ultimately benefit the end customer Consistently delivers beyond customer’s expectations while taking preventive measures to mitigate customer issues Gathers information on client requirements and segments the customers Proactively seeks customer feedback to develop a clear understanding of customer requirements and outcomes

Thinks of innovative ways of reducing costs at the organizational level without compromising on quality/performance. 

People Management :
