The role
IAG have an immediate need for a QA & Tester – Automation to join the Technology Insurance Platforms division. As an experienced QA Tester, you’ll analyse proposed solutions, implement solutions, solve complex problems, and provide test leadership to assure the quality of the solutions being built. You will work closely with Project Managers, Iteration Managers, Analysts and Developers, as well as other members of the platform and project teams, and key business stakeholders.
To be successful you will have a systematic, disciplined, and analytical approach to problem solving and a strong ability to understand the quality risks to complex solutions. You will have strong stakeholder engagement skills to work with other platform teams, as well as program delivery stakeholders to manage the team’s velocity and outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operationalise testing strategies to deliver the desired test outcomes for the team, and document them
- Responsible for developing ways of working (testing specific) and test engagement practices in collaboration with members of your own team as well as with various stakeholder groups, and document these.
- Review and contribute to technical designs, describing the solution to fulfil functional specifications to ensure traceability to business requirements
- Participate in inception and estimation sessions to – develop cost and effort estimates on the proposed solution and testing effort
- Continue to expand and create the platform test automation framework and test assets
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of work practices and the quality of the systems
- Contribute to the quality and completeness of platform’s test assets and other artefacts
Skills & Experience
- Ideally 5+ years’ experience in a similar Automation QA Testing role
- Experience in planning, writing and executing test cases in agile software delivery teams
- Experience in planning, coordinating and reporting on test efforts, using JIRA and Confluence
- Context-based and risk-based testing of Mobile applications integrated with complex business applications
- Expertise in the use of automation tools such as Selenium, SoapUI and Appium, etc.
- Programming expertise for Mobile application Test automation, exposure to Swift and Kotlin programming languages
