Job Purpose:
To generate an increase in net sales, retain assets and maximise revenue through the creation and development of relationships within the London based offices of the National Discretionary Asset Manager and Global Banks.
Key Responsibilities / Duties:
- To develop Invesco’s business in the UK Discretionary channel and to deliver to our clients a superior Investment experience
- Working with UK Discretionary Sales colleagues to develop and execute on the business strategy targeting a significant growth in Invesco managed assets within the London discretionary market
- Demonstrate the energy, enthusiasm, commitment, dedication and pursuit of ‘partnership status’ required to be successful.
- Demonstrate a Consultative Sales Approach in a client centric manner
- Exhibit the skills, knowledge and ability to be consultative through the sales cycle and through every engagement with clients, in pursuit of achieving the growth target.
- Think of innovative ways to engage with clients at the right time, in the right format which will move them through the sales cycle in the most efficient manner
- Develop, Agree and Evolve business plans
- Analyse sales/industry/client data to drive planned activity to deliver on the business strategy and exceed sales targets
- This will include developing an appropriate coverage model for all clients.
- Build and Strengthen Invesco Relationships, working collegiately on the larger client relationships and leading a number of specific client relationships
- To identify, develop and maintain individual relationships with key personnel within your target market through telephone contact, digital media, individual meetings and group presentations.
- Developing deep, long term relationships so as to understand client business models and best introduce the Invesco investment strategies most beneficial to the client and their investors
- Build and maintain internal relationships with wider distribution and Investment team across the Invesco business
- Fund, Market and Industry Knowledge
- To keep fully updated with regard to Invesco funds, market views and industry related topics. Primarily Mutual funds but extends across the suite of Invesco product, including Passive capabilities, Investment Trusts and liquidity solutions
- To message accurately and appropriately the philosophy, strategy, process and views of the Invesco fund managers and to articulate these together with market commentary and outlook to your clients.
- Systems/Record Keeping
- To be fully versed in using key systems for the purposes of business and client planning.
- To be responsible for maintaining accurate records of all client interactions on SalesForce.
- Ensure all activities are in line with Treating Customers Fairly outcomes
Work Experience / Knowledge:
- Proven experience in a financial sector sales environment
- Ability to demonstrate sound initiatives and take on ideas to be sold to market
- Experience of producing quality reports, presentations and general communications
- Sound IT skills, including Microsoft office suite. Must be open to learning new technologies
- Market leading knowledge of financial markets
- Market leading knowledge of Invesco funds and capabilities
- Comprehensive understanding of industry trends and dynamics
- Complete understanding and adherence to individual and company Regulatory Requirements
- Strong numeracy skills

- Flexible regarding working hours and able to commit to travel as required by the role
- Excellent communication and influencing skills in order to maximise sales opportunities in a demanding cultural environment
- Self-motivated, organised and methodical with good time management skills
- Adaptive and responsive to changes in client needs and the industry environment
- Excellent written communication skills in order to produce business plans, reports and presentations
Formal Education:
- Educated to degree level or equivalent with relevant industry qualifications. IMC preferred
- Full driving licence required
