2nd Shift Seasonal Team Lead

A Day In The Life 
  • Under the leadership of the Warehouse Operations Manager and Distribution Centre Manager, the Warehouse Team Lead hold the responsibility of leading the day to day operations of their department, takes initiative to delegate work, provides feedback to the team and follows up on outstanding issues. They are present on the DC floor encouraging and energizing the team as well as supporting their people with daily responsibilities like picking, packing, processing and shipping inventory.   • Leads department operations to meet specific company SLAs (service level agreements) in addition to meeting or exceeding engineered metrics
  • Leads a team of ~10-30 people
  • Engages in and at times leads training, team building, meetings and personal development
  • Acts as a coach to Warehouse Associates and plays a hands-on roll in their development. They actively develop Warehouse Associates through vision and goals, coaching and feedback to support in building our internal talent pipeline
  • Manages the day to day staffing needs of their department
  • Collaborates with the Warehouse Operations Managers to communicate forecasted workload to the team and is responsible for daily opening and closing duties
  • Enrolls Associates in maintaining a safe work environment through our safety program
  • Stays on top of internal company communication and filter relevant information to team
  • Manages Warehouse Associate performance including but not limited to UPH, attendance, vacation and documentation
Qualifications 
  • Ability to work Wed-Sat 5pm-3:30am
  • Capable of adapting to third party technologies (RF scanners, voice picking & new systems)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • 3 years of experience in a warehouse environment
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs frequently
  • Ability to obtain a powered industrial truck (PIT) operator certification depending on business needs
  • Flexible and adaptable with schedule which could include nights, working required holidays, some weekends with occasional after hour requirements
  • WCBC compliance requires steel toe boots and high visibility vest to work in the facility
