If you think you have what it takes, apply for our full time Design Certification Engineer 1 (DCE) position at our Olathe, KS Headquarters location to contribute to product development through a diverse set of skills. Project and system development contributions are not limited to one area and a DCE can work in one or many different disciplines consisting of the following essential functions:
- Assist Project Engineers in managing avionics design teams
- Guide development teams by understanding and following established engineering processes
- Produce and submit key FAA documents to ensure compliance with required aviation regulations
- Define new products and systems through concept, product development planning, and requirements development
- Design and test avionics electronic circuits
- Write, validate, and verify FPGA code
- Write, validate, verify, and review software for products and test equipment
- Provide system level safety analysis of integrated avionics systems
- Lead and participate in product development reviews
- Develop and execute hardware test plans for functional, certification, HIRF (High intensity radiated field) and Lightning qualifications
- Interface across organizational boundaries to coordinate avionics development
- Become an expert in FAA regulatory requirements
- Gain experience in a wide variety of aviation engineering skills
- Review and update hardware development process documents
Qualified candidates for this role will possess a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Computer Engineering from a four-year college or university, or an equivalent combination of education and experience with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA. Other qualifications include:
• Must possess demonstrated knowledge, education, and/or training of basic circuits (Digital, FPGA, Analog and/or RF)
• Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Superior organizational and analytical skills with keen attention to detail and quality
