Senior Copywriter – Campaign

We are looking for a Senior Copywriter – Campaigns. This candidate will capture the authentic voice of Garmin as you create unexpected 360-degree ideas and write compelling copy for advertising campaigns in fitness, outdoor, marine, automotive and aviation consumer markets.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Collaborate with art directors and creative partners to develop creative campaign concepts for Garmin’s world-class tech products
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of social media and digital ad platforms with a creative mastery in optimizing ideas and executions for these channels
  • Write for TV, print, out-of-home, web and social advertising mediums
  • Assist with presenting and selling creative work to marketing, product and sales managers
  • See campaign ideas through production on still photography and video shoots
  • Collaborate with other marketing groups including media, sponsorships and PR teams
  • Write copy for use on the Garmin.com
  • Write promotional copy for use by dealers
  • Write copy for POS, tradeshow and other standard marketing materials

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work to remain current on the features and benefits of the complete Garmin line of products
  • Read all the associated trade publications to remain current on market trends and to observe competitive advertising
  • Accept and complete projects and other duties as assigned by the manager

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four year college or university in Journalism, English, Mass Communications OR a field relevant for successful performance of the essential functions of this job description
  • Minimum of 8 years of writing experience in an ad agency or in-house agency environment
  • Demonstrated exemplary writing skills
  • Must possess demonstrated effective presentation skills and public speaking ability
  • Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency using word processing
  • Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to work proactively and effectively with minimal supervision
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environment
  • Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience writing and developing materials and campaigns for one of the following categories is preferred: Aviation, Transportation/Travel, Sports and Outdoor Recreation.
