Facilities Electrical Engineer

Summary:

 

The Facilities Electrical Project Engineer will report directly to the Facility Engineering Team Leader.  This position provides technical engineering services and project management to support production, maintenance, and administrative department’s achievement of the location’s business plan.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage the electrical and controls scope of process improvement, capital expansion, and obsolescence mitigation projects.
  • Coordinate all phases of assigned projects from concept, scope development, written specifications, bid solicitations, related bid meetings, equipment and facilities engineering/design, manufacturing, and installation through final start-up, acceptance and project closure.
  • Assist production and maintenance with various types of equipment and process issues from an engineering perspective with key emphasis on maintaining and improving reliability and productivity of systems with specialized technical expertise in the application and use of automation technology for plant facilities and processes.
  • Provide a higher-level support for all PLC, HMI, and Robotic systems and programming for all PLC/Scada/Database Systems.
  • Maintain accurate records for all automation programs and all changes to these systems.
  • Propose and execute improvements to existing automation systems and processes.
  • Focus on overall safety of facilities equipment and processes including responsibility and oversight of EHS policies.
  • Oversee contractor work and compliance to Arconic, Federal/State, Environmental, Health and Safety policies.

 

Qualifications

 Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 5 years experience working with electrical systems such as power distribution, PLC’s, HMI’s, and database systems
  • Experience with Project Management in a team based enviroment
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.  Visa sponsorship is not available for this position

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical control
  • Capable of programming Allen Bradley/ControlLogix/Modicon PLC systems
  • Experience programming Wonderware, SQL, touchscreen HMI/SCADA systems
  • Understanding of NEC, NFPA, and other pertinent electrical safety codes
  • Ability to use ACAD/Inventor
