Responsibilities Include:
- Support buy/supply/pay practices and the administrative process to drive process optimization and automation across several HES Sites.
- Place purchase orders for direct & indirect purchases;
- Coordinate supplier’s delivery schedules to meet production needs & expedite as needed;
- Creates, develops and accounts for tools and templates to simplify and streamline efficient communication between team members as well as efficient execution on all procurement related tasks;
- Work with and support other buyer/planners or operations staff to execute purchase orders, solve AP issues & communicate with suppliers as needed;
- Interface with other departments (Shipping, Processing, Engineering, Quality) to resolve problems with timely resolution;
- Interface with other Buyers as well as production to resolve problems relevant to direct materials and services, raw material quality, quantity verification and delivery in support of production demands;
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement on a daily basis by your actions. Take the initiative to resolve purchasing issues with and without interaction from supervision. Willingly participate with production teams to resolve purchasing issues;
- Perform other tasks as needed in support of manufacturing operations, customers and suppliers;
- Helps to ensure that Global Procedures, quality and the standards for the department are adhered to and maintained;
- Assumes other special activities (including cost savings and cash flow) and responsibilities from time to time as required;
- Serves as help desk and support function on high yield procurement activities, e.g. supplier summits;
- Self-starter; must be able to contribute to creating his/her job content.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED from accredited institution
- 3 years of previous office related work experience
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility is required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position;
- This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITRA defines U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen U.S. Permanent Resident (ie. ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3 years in purchasing and/or supply chain management
- Bachelor’s (4 year) degree with Business / Management focus
- Good knowledge of procurement processes, especially purchase-to-pay (operational)
- Oracle QAD
- Proficiency in data-mining and software applications.
