Skyworks Cedar Rapids design center has leading R&D and product development capabilities and is seeking Validation Engineering talent to meet rapidly increasing customer demand. When you join our team in Cedar Rapids, you’ll join a uniquely collaborative, multi-discipline engineering community who support each other working across our domestic design centers creating cutting edge products for global markets. You’ll be paired with an experienced mentor to help support you as an integral part of the team. You will be part of a multi-discipline team developing PA, RF switches, LNA, front-end modules for the high volume and fast paced cellular handset market.

The work will include but not be limited to the following:
o Create STC (Specification To Compliance) Files that define all required tests
o Create / Modify GUTS (General Unified Test Solution) Programs that drive automated test solutions
o Drives Design Verification Test (DVT) testing and actively provides feedback and conclusion to Design
o Completes the Design Scorecard and/or Customer Compliance Matrix highlighting performance deficiencies and areas that need focus
o Serves as the key interfaces between Design Engineering (DE) and System Engineering (SE), Product Engineering (PE), Characterization Engineering (CE), and Test Engineering (TE)
o Responsible for the transition from DVT testing to characterization to final test
o Follows Skyworks Product Realization Process (PRP) to successfully deliver products to Internal and External Customers
o Mentor and coach junior Engineers, Co-ops and Interns on tools, design verification flow and data analysis

o PATx(proprietary Skyworks tool)
o C/C++ & scripting languages
o Microsoft Office/Outlook
o ADS/Cadence design tools
Hardware Tools used are:
o Network Analyzers
o Spectrum Analyzers
o Signal Generators
o Digital Receivers
o Load-Pull/Tuners
Job Requirements:
BS degree + 5 years work experience or MS + 3 years
3+ years of experience measuring, tuning, optimizing RF and/or analog/mixed-signal IC’s
Excellent communication, good troubleshooting skills, an eagerness to continually learn, a passion to win/contribute, ability to work in and thrive in a team environment.
A successful Validation Engineer will possess proficiency in RF measurement equipment as well as test software development. A strong understanding of RF fundamentals, analog design concepts, PA concepts, wireless knowledge, test equipment operation and test equipment automation is critical for success. Experience in software development methodologies and C/C++ programming skills are a must. The candidate must demonstrate capability to operate in a multi-disciplinary team and adhere to project schedules. Familiarity with 5G/4G/3G/2G cellular standards and component requirements is desired. #LI-DB1
