- The Field Service Technician (FST) is responsible for daily routine technical aspects of equipment delivered to the field including testing, validation, commissioning and warranty activities at the site’s. The FST will interface with the Customers, end users, vendors, and possibly project office
- The FST is responsible for the daily routine of all technical aspects of equipment delivered to the field including testing, validation, commissioning and warranty activities at the site.
- Responsible for self-managing testing and commissioning priorities.
- The FST will provide general and applied mechanical expertise (trouble shooting, welding, machining, fitting, removal, repair, plumbing, etc.)
- The FST will provide general and applied electrical expertise (trouble shooting, testing, wiring, fitting, removal, repair, etc.)
- The FST will understand the architecture, functional design of the equipment and be able to read schematics and/or engineering drawings
- Implement onsite technical troubleshooting and installation of hardware and software
- Implement special test programs to validate new hardware and software improvements and releases.
- Analyze data trends to determine if equipment meet performance criteria.
- Assessing feasibility and soundness of engineering tests, changes proposed for implementation in the field.
- Assure the coordination of commissioning, test, troubleshooting, repairs, and warranty activities at site’s) and all locations where said activities are required.
- Generate site technical reports (commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, repairs, warranty work, etc.) and ensure these are properly and timely communicated to all interested parties.
- Assist in implementation of field engineering changes, upgrades and validation of equipment performance Provide technical expertise support/training/technical guidance as necessary to customer service site staff
Education
HS Diploma
EPA Refrigerant License – Universal Class desired
Knowledge, Skills And Experience
3-5 year’s experience with Rail Vehicle maintenance
Must be able to pass pre-employment background investigation and drug screen
Candidates must be US Citizens or Permanent Residents. No Visa support.
