Specialist II PMO

We are looking for a Specialist II to join our growing PMO office! In this position you will have a critical leadership role in developing the PMO methodology, governance & compliance, training & awareness and delivery assurance. Additional responsibility includes developing and deploying tools, reporting and processes and continuous improvement initiatives which includes the TIS scorecard, management dashboards and performance packages within the PMO.

What You Will Do:

Develop project management processes, methods, tools, guidelines and standards in order to execute a stable framework that supports all project teams and partners to improve the probability of successful project delivery

Resolve project issues and ensure intended benefits are accounted for and realized.

Execute effective stage gate reviews as defined by the PMO framework

Conduct project reviews to determine health status and delivery effectiveness

Develop and maintain relationships with key PMO partners, and act as a trusted advisor to project delivery teams.

Generates initiatives to mature project management practices across all deployment methodologies – agile, waterfall and hybrid.

Standardizes project delivery methods and conduct training on governance framework

Deploys continuous improvement initiatives to ensure optimal user experience with PMO tools, templates, methodology and reporting

Collaborates with business units on the definition of metrics and key performance indicators for projects

Exercises judgement in figuring out project performance against the TIS scorecard, and defining & implementing other metrics useful to determine how TIS is performing against industry peers and standards

Determines accuracy, transparency, and audit ability of all PMO and performance records

Consults with Sr Business Leaders and Projects Manager on improvement opportunities on TIS processes, controls, project performance systems, tools and templates. Make recommendations on the improvement opportunities.

Establishes governance with the projects and operations teams developing and improving the understanding of business or IT demand, and translate demand information into capacity assessments to support resource planning

Who You Are:

Bachelor’s degree or a diploma in business, computer science or a related subject area

10+ years of directly related Project Management experience including minimum of 5 years demonstrated experience in project management and execution

Solid understanding of several project management standard methodologies, tools, and techniques (for example, PMI PMBOK, PRINCE2 and agile)

Program management skills and experience, plus significant knowledge of project planning tools with evidence of practical application

Interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and communicate the PMO vision, and inspire and influence others

Proficiencies in the competencies associated with Project Portfolio Control / Assurance and Program / Project Management including:

Project Planning & Execution

Metrics / Management Reporting

Project Management Governance and Compliance

Ability to analyze operational and project requirements and ascertain vital resource requirements

Knowledge and familiarity with IT resourcing alternatives (contracting, outsourcing, offshoring etc.)

Proficiency with Excel, SharePoint, and ERP Systems (e.g. Oracle, Workday)
