Program Development and Business Planning Specialist

In this role you will provide strategic and innovative solutions to our GTMO customers to take concepts from the idea stage, to the development of the business case, to project approval and execution.

Here’s what you will do:

Lead Business Initiative Projects through the program development activities of ideation and screening to planning and sanctioning.

Business Case Development.

Current State Analysis.

Project Scope Review Checklist Assessment.

Ensure compliance with Program Development Office procedures, Project Lifecycle Gating Control process, and appropriate templates.

Work in the Program Develop Office to provide innovative, fit-for-purpose, development of projects in support of business drivers.

Develop Business Cases / Proposals with ROIs, associated budgets, schedules to achieve the defined business goals. The end deliverable is a business case / project proposal defining the critical information, specific to each project to be used by the PDO Steer-Co to make decisions.

Apply knowledge, experience and PDO resources, to ensure schedules and cost estimates are appropriate for the project scope and risk profile.

Utilize lessons learned and best practices to deliver business value.

May be required to provide some leadership / direction to Business Analyst during the Screening Stage

Act as a key point of contact and liaison into the Project Development Office (PDO).

Project performance include formal or informal reporting, project dashboards, project metric development, performance template development and maintenance.

After project approval, lead an effective transition from the development phase to the execution phase.

Ensure that the knowledge of decisions, assumptions and execution plans made during the development phase are accurately understood and applied in the execution phase.

Who you are:

You have:

7+ years of progressively responsible experience in project development or project management.

Continued learning determination focused on business, economics, finance and accounting.

Experience with cost estimating, contingency, risk evaluations, scheduling, and scoping of projects.

Aptitude and communications skills related to leading and acting independently as a lead providing direction in a project team environment.

Proven interpersonal, communication, negotiation and leadership skills.

Ability to self-prioritize and solve complex problems using appropriate industry best practices.

Strong emotional awareness and ability to influence others in technical and project decisions.

High level of verbal and non-verbal communication skills including making presentations to senior leadership.

Demonstrated ability to be innovative, self-motivated, initiate and manage change.

Software expertise with MS Office, Visio, Scheduling software

The following are considered assets:

PMP (Project Management Professional).

CBAP (Certified Business Analyst Professional).

Experience in gas, midstream or operations environment.

Estimating, risk, Power BI, and/or modelling software experience.

Working Conditions:

Office environment.

Stress levels can be above normal as project work is deadline oriented, highly visible and numerous priority project tasks are conducted simultaneously.
